The Story Behind the Name
Our name comes from Miwale — a tree that grows in a small, under-resourced village in Tanzania. Miwaleni means "the village of the Miwale trees."
Our founder visited this village and saw something powerful: a community rich in natural beauty, culture, and potential, yet largely invisible to the world. The idea was simple — use sustainable tourism to raise awareness, create opportunity, and protect what makes this place special.
"Sustainability is the heart of the impact."
Today, Miwaleni Travel is a fully licensed, 100% locally-owned tour company headquartered in Moshi, Kilimanjaro — run by a team of professionals in tourism, wildlife, community development, and environmental conservation.
