Upon arrival in Kigoma, you will be transferred to the Sunset Visita Hotel for check-in. Enjoy a breakfast or lunch at the hotel, depending on your arrival time. Spend the afternoon at your leisure, perhaps relaxing at the hotel or exploring the local surroundings at your own pace. In the evening, you will have a briefing about your upcoming Gombe adventure and enjoy dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay at Sunset Visita Hotel.
After a morning breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the port. Embark on a scenic boat ride across Lake Tanganyika to Gombe National Park. Upon arrival, check in to your accommodation at Kasekela Suite tent and tent. Enjoy lunch at the camp. In the afternoon, you will head out for a half-day chimpanzee trekking excursion, getting your first glimpse of these incredible primates in their natural habitat. Return to the camp, where you can enjoy some leisure time, take a refreshing swim in Lake Tanganyika, and witness a beautiful sunset with the backdrop of the Congo Mountains across the lake. Comfortable walking shoes, long trousers, long-sleeved shirts, insect repellent, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, binoculars, a camera with a zoom lens, and a water bottle are recommended. Neutral-colored clothing is advisable.
