Kilimanjaro Marathon Itinerary 3-5 Days

21st  Feb 2025:Day 1 : Arrival in Moshi

  • Morning/Afternoon: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) near Moshi, Tanzania.
  • Transport to Hotel: we will arrange a transfer to your hotel in Moshi where you will rest and relax, and perhaps take a short walk around Moshi town to get familiar with the surroundings. Many hotels provide views of Mount Kilimanjaro or you may opt to visit local shops or markets to buy essentials or souvenirs.

22nd Feb 2025:Day 2: Registration & Pre-Race Preparation

  • Morning:Today you will have breakfast at your hotel.Head to the race expo for registration. You can pick up your race bib, t-shirt, and any other event-related materials. This is also a good opportunity to check out the expo for merchandise, local products, and race information.
  • Afternoon:Take a relaxing walk around Moshi town.Keep your activities light to preserve energy for race day and in the evening you will attend the pre-race briefing  to get more details about the event and last-minute instructions.
    • Have an early dinner with easily digestible food  and gets a good night’s rest before race day.

23rd Day 3: Race Day

  • Early Morning:
    • Wake up early for the marathon. Depending on your race start time (usually around 6:30 AM for the marathon), have a light breakfast at least 2 hours before the race. Consider something like toast, fruit, and a bit of protein.
    • We will transfer you to the race start line in the center of Moshi.
  • Race Time:
    • The race starts with the marathon (42.195 km), followed by the half marathon (21.1 km), and the 5K or fun run events.
    • Enjoy the race! The route offers stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, local villages, and lush landscapes.
  • Midday (Post-Race):
    • After finishing the race, you’ll find a post-race refreshment area with water, snacks, and possibly fruit.
    • Participate in the post-race ceremony if you’re interested in awards or celebrations.
  • Afternoon:
    • we will pick you and return to your hotel for a relaxing rest or take a refreshing dip in a pool
  • Evening:
    • Enjoy a celebratory dinner with other runners or locals. Tanzanian cuisine offers many delicious options, including grilled meats, rice, and fresh vegetables.
    • Relax and unwind.

24th  Feb 2025:Day 4: Recovery & Exploration

  • Morning:
  • Evening:
    • Dinner and some free time to relax.

25th Day 5: Departure

  • Morning:
    • Have a relaxed breakfast and depending on your flight time,we will transfer you to the airport to catch your flight Take a taxi or arranged transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home.
